The Northern Beaches are Blacks Beach , Eimeo, Bucasia and Shoal Point. Close
to the city are Lamberts Beach , Harbour Beach which his patrolled all year,
Far Beach and Illawong Beach.
Blacks Beach
This beach North of Mackay and stretches for 6km, it is a beautiful beach for swimming and sunbathing.
Bocasia Beach
Another Northern beach, that is pretty and has a safe swimming enclosure.
Eimeo Beach
This beach is a part of the beautiful coral coastline and popular with daytrippers and tourists, it is very easy to spend a day on this beach. Located at Dolphin Heads and best accessed from the Mackay-Bucasia Road, off the Bruce Highway.
Harbour Beach
The best beach in Mackay for swimming, beach play and safety. It can be found 6km North of the city centre, and is patrolled. There is also a popular picnic reserve here with seating and BBQ facilities.
Illawong Beach
This beach can be found 2km from Mackay and is popular with locals and families, a better swimming beach than Town Beach.
Sarina Beach
A lovely long beach situated at Sarina 38km Sout of mackay. There is a Surf Lifesaving Club here and a boat ramp.
Town Beach
This beach is the closest to Mackay, this is a sandy, shallow beach with lots of mudflats.
