The Rialto

offers fine dining with a great a la carte menu and a superb wine list. Licensed and open seven days a week, the Rialto is cosy and intimate and menu items include great steaks, tasty chicken and pasta dishes and some delicious desserts.

George’s

Right on the waterfront, a ten minute drive from the CBD, and well worth the effort. A popular lunch and dinner spot it offers some great tastes of the orient at some good prices. Tom Yum, Thai red and green meat and veggie curries a must. Open six days a week, BYO.

The Lighthouse

Located at the Mackay Marina, has some of the best and freshest seafood platters on the east coast - at some great prices. Set on the waterfront, it’s a great place to unwind. Live entertainment at weekends, licensed and open seven days a week.

Satchmo’s at the Reef

This top spot on Mackay Marina offers a top spot for a glass of wine with some real tasty tapas offerings. Trendy and very popular with locals, it’s well priced and well worth a try. Open seven days a week and fully licensed.

The Church

A longtime favourite with locals. Ample portions from an extensive menu at great prices. Great seafood and so many options to choose from. A hidden culinary gem of Mackay. Open Monday to Saturday from 6.30pm.

Galleons

Situated as part of the Ocean International Hotel on Illawong Beach, has a reputation for fine food in a wonderful setting, overlooking the ocean. Fully licensed and open seven days a week, the menu is a delight, at average prices for such establishments with fresh locally caught seafood, grain fed Queensland beef plus many other options.

The Citron Brasserie

Situated at the Sea Breeze resort just 10kms north of Mackay CBD. A sleepy little village atmosphere where this fully licensed establishment offers some great food and great service at great prices. Lunch or dinner, open seven days a week.

Set in an imposing old colonial building in the heart of the city. Kevin offers Singaporean food - a blend of Indian, Chinese and Malay - hot, spicy and very tasty. Popular with locals, good food and food prices, it is is open Monday-Saturday, dinner form 6pm and it’s BYO.

Romeo and Juliet’s

A popular licensed restaurant located at the Shakespeare Motel. A great favourite with locals for its flaming oysters and delicious steaks. Book if you can, as it can be hard to get a table - either inside or out in the tropical garden. Open seven days from 6.30pm.
